Make Your Muesli Shine

Every time you eat is an opportunity to nourish your body. Muesli is one of the quickest, most delicious and nutritious breakfasts to choose from. If you’re eating it on its own you’re already doing your body a big favour… but why not take it to another level by adding…

Blueberries: These little bad boys sit in a league of their own. Like many berries, blueberries are a good source of vitamin C and dietary fibre. They also contain beta carotene, vitamin E and smaller amounts of essential minerals.

Almonds: Add them slivered, flaked, ground or whole. All nuts are packed full of nutrition, but almonds stand out as a super nut! Not only are they rich in healthy fats, vitamin E, protein, fibre, magnesium, zinc, calcium and potassium, they also help keep bad cholesterol down.

Flaxseeds: Also known as linseeds, flaxseeds are a fantastic source of omega-3s and are the richest plant source of alpha-linoleic acid (ALA), the most common omega-3 oil found in fish.

Chia Seeds: Add a little extra texture to your morning muesli with these little power seeds. Chia seeds are a good source of omega-3 fats, fibre, protein, calcium, folate, iron and potassium. Try adding some chia pudding to your breakfast for extra texture also.

Matcha: A powder made from the leaves of green tea, Matcha contains small amounts of vitamins and minerals, plus rich antioxidants known as polyphenols. It is, however, higher in caffeine than green tea as it’s the tea leaves being consumed. Look for pure Matcha without the added sugar and enjoy it in moderation, with the occasional sprinkle on your muesli.
